Northern Architectural History lecture
Over the last 12 months, work has started on planning a major restoration of the Tyne Theatre & Opera House. In consequence, the architectural genealogy of this Grade I listed building has been finally unravelled.
Join the Northern Architectural History Society and theatre consultant, David Wilmore, to hear about the architectural history of the Tyne Theatre and Opera House’s change and evolution between 1867 and 1919, and the Tyne Theatre Architects – William Parnell, Oliver & Leeson, and Frank Matcham.
The lecture takes place on Wednesday 18 October at 7.30pm in the Fine Art Lecture Theatre, King Edward VII, Claremont Road, Newcastle University. For more information, visit https://www.northernarchitecturalhistory.org.uk/index.html
