Please note: this is a voluntary role

The Tyne Theatre and Opera House Preservation Trust is seeking an experienced qualified accountant to join their board of Trustees as Treasurer. The role has become available due to the promotion of the current Treasurer to Chairman.

The Trust is a charity which owns and manages the magnificent and historic Grade 1 listed Tyne Theatre and Opera House. This is an exciting time for the Trust as we look to raise funds for the restoration of the Victorian opera house. The opera house is one of only a handful Grade 1 listed theatres in England and is unique through its lavish auditorium and complete Victorian stage machinery.

The role of Treasurer involves setting the financial strategy, presenting management accounts, budgets and forecast, working closely with the directors of the theatre operating company and ensuring sound financial control. The commitment involves 2 hours per month of trust and sub-committee meetings together with liaising with the in-house finance team and the auditors and involvement in projects depending on capacity.

All interested in the role should send their CV and covering letter (one side of A4 only) to michael.wilmot@tynetheatreandoperahouse.uk
