This April, follow the Yellow Brick Road to the Tyne Theatre & Opera House for a fantastic all-new Easter pantomime version of The Wizard of Oz.

Join Kansas farm-girl Dorothy and her pet dog Toto on this magical adventure suitable for all ages. Watch in amazement as they are picked up by a tornado and carried off to the magical Land of Oz. With help from their new friends the Munchkins, they travel to the Emerald City where the great Wizard of Oz lives.

On their way they meet a Scarecrow who needs a brain, a Tin Man who wants a heart, and a Cowardly Lion who desperately needs courage. Will the wonderful Wizard of Oz be able to help them before the Wicked Witch of the West captures them in her dungeon?

Come and join in the fun over the rainbow spring 2020 as Enchanted Entertainment present a wonderful Easter pantomime version of L. Frank Baum’s much-loved fairy tale. Packed with brilliant dance routines, well known pop songs, lots of audience participation and plenty of laughter for all the family!

FAQs
What is your COVID policy?
Our full COVID policy can be found here. We do not ask for proof of vaccine or negative test as a condition of entry. We do however ask that you wear a mask whilst in the Theatre (especially when moving around) and also be mindful of social distancing where possible.

What is the show running time?
2hrs 30m including an interval.

Does a child need a ticket?
In our policy children 18 months or younger classify as babes in arms and will not need a ticket. Children over 18 months old will need a ticket, even if you want to keep them on your lap. Those under the age of 16 (and over 60) qualify for a concession ticket.

Do you have a place for buggies / prams?
We have a buggy park at the back of the auditorium Stalls level. However, there is very limited space so we ask that you please leave your buggy at home, if possible.

Do you have booster seats?
We do have booster seats but they are limited and first come, first serve – please ask a member of staff upon arrival. It’s also perfectly acceptable if you want to keep your child on your knee as long as they’re not obstructing the view for people behind you.

Can I bring my own refreshments?
Our bars will be open and serving drinks and refreshments prior the show and during intervals. You may also bring you own refreshments, however no hot food, glass or alcohol is permitted and we ask that you please tidy up after yourselves and use the bins provided.

 


Covid-19 update (15/01/2021):
‘Due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, ‘Enchanted Entertainment present: The Wizard of Oz Easter Panto’ due to take place on 11 & 12 April 2020, then 3rd and 4th April 2021, will be rescheduled again to 16th & 17th April 2022. All tickets for the 2020/21 performances will remain valid for the rescheduled dates.

We do encourage ticket holders to hold onto their tickets where possible in this turbulent time for the events industry – which needs your support now, more than ever. However, If you are unable to attend the rescheduled date, refunds will be available from your point of purchase. More info here.’
