Job Title: Maintenance Volunteer
Reports to: Chair of Building committee
Appointed by: Interview Panel
Period of Appointment: casual hours, approx. 5 hours a week, flexible
Salary: Unpaid volunteer position

Purpose of Role

The Maintenance volunteers will support the Maintenance Co-Ordinator and the Chair of the Building Committee and work with other existing volunteers to carry out various tasks around the building. Our volunteers come in about twice a week or as needed when our busy show schedule allows. Volunteers paint surfaces, repair fixtures, change light bulbs and carry out routine checks in the building.

You will gain experience of repair work in a professional theatre and develop team working skills with our friendly crew. Previous experience of working in a theatre or a venue is desired but not necessary. Experience of DIY jobs and skills with tools is required.

Desired Experience and Skills

  • General knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrics, painting & decorating.
  • General knowledge of Health & Safety.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.
  • An interest in the arts and entertainment industries.
