The Tyne Theatre And Opera house will stage an evening with the Entertainers on January 24th next year with John Gibson hosting the event. The event will focus on Seasons 1992-95 to include Kevin Keegan’s arrival and formation of everybody’s second team, the glorious promotion campaign and those early days in the Premier League that led to European nights returning.

Kevin Keegan became Newcastle United manager in 1992 and embarked on turning the Magpies into a bastion of invincibility. Dubbed the ‘Entertainers’ by Sky Sports, the magpies became everybody’s second team and were known for their attacking style. From the early days fighting relegation to the old third division to competing for the Premier League title and the return to Europe we hear from some of the players that made it happen.
